KEEP IT TRUE XVII REVIEW

Better late than never…The review for Keep It True Festival-April 2014 is finally ready, hope you enjoy it! It was time for another Keep It True again…This is a very unique festival taking place in Lauda-Königshofen/Germany that I am heavily dedicated since my first visit in 2008. For me, the major attractions of this year’s edition were Flotsam & Jetsam, Toxik, Lethal and Persian Risk. I was also happy to be seeing the opening bands; Night Demon, Iron Kingdom and Ranger. Flotsam was very important due to their setlist which is defined as ”No Place for the Deceiver”, Read more...

ICED EARTH – LIVE IN ISTANBUL CONCERT REVIEW

Now, we have an Iced Earth show to review with the opening bands; Warbringer and Elm Street. To start with, I have to make a confession…I have never been an Iced Earth fan and never had a connection with the band…and in fact, I mostly find them boring and flat. Hell yeahh; not a good start for a review. So, the question is; why I was there? I was there to spend a good time with friends and watch Warbringer and Elm Street live, especially to see Warbringer for the first time. However, things did not work out like this… The tour had two special guests, Warbringer and Elm Street. Read more...

ANNIHILATOR LIVE IN ISTANBUL

At last, Annihilator could meet their fans in Istanbul. This was the first visit of Annihilator to Turkey and the tension was high among the fans. There were rumors of an Annihilator show back in 2008 but it did not turn into reality. Thus, we had the fear that the concert will be cancelled as it was also unusual that the show in Istanbul were added after the end of the tour. However, we defeated our fear and started to get ready for the show. As always, I did my homework and started listening to Never Neverland again. After all these years, the album was still close to perfection. It was Read more...

ROCK YOU TO HELL FESTIVAL – ATHENS

It was a very quick decision to travel to Greece for Rock You To Hell Festival when i saw the line-up. This would be a great opportunity seeing Medieval Steel and Holocaust twice in a year. In fact, i have been following the possible European Tour of Medieval Steel since Keep it True in April. Medieval Steel’s Greece show came along with a one day festival including the legendary Holocaust and NWOBHM pioneers Spartan Warrior. The festival line-up also included Greek bands; Blind Justice, Clairvoyant, Erase and Serpenteeth (CYP). I contacted with the Christos Xigas, the man behind Read more...

KEEP IT TRUE XVI

This was my 6th visit to KIT festival since 2008 and the 3rd week of April has always been one of the greatest days of the year. So, this KIT was again, a dream come true for me. It was really a heaven for epic metal fans seeing Medieval Steel, Liege Lord and Warlord at the same festival. DAY I I always spend the first hours of KIT Day-1 for shopping purposes. So, unfortunately i missed the opening bands Borrowed Time and Eliminator while i was digging for some some tshirts and LP’s. Air Raid and High Spirits are energetic new comers which have a bright future ahead. I was not much Read more...
