ONSLAUGHT – VI

Onslaught have released their 6th album titled VI in their 30 years career. They have always been a unique band in the British metal scene with their ultra violent, aggressive and raw sound. Their thrash has always been fast&furious and the new one is no different. You get the usual Onslaught sound with no big surprises, may be excl. Children of the Sand which you hear some Middle Eastern melodies. Of course, there is a modern thrash sound as we see in the fellow thashers like Death Angel, Destruction or Exodus. But the music is still old school thrash. The best and most remembered song Read more...

MANILLA ROAD – MYSTERIUM ALBUM REVIEW

As a starting point, I am a huge Manilla Road fan, having the honor to see them on stage and carrying their backpatch for years. I always welcome their new releases and I’ve never been frustrated at any time. In their long history, Mr. Shelton and crew have always been very productive. Especially, for the 80s period, Manilla Road stood as one of the most unique bands with their epic, progressive and powerful music. Also, Mark The Shark Shelton has one of the most exceptional voices in metal which gives a wonderful depth to music. The album is good in general but I see it as a regular Read more...

ATTACKER – GIANTS OF CANAAN

Attacker is one of the leading US Metal bands and they hold a respected position in US metal scene especially with their first two albums; Battle at Helm’s Deep-1985 and The Second Coming-1988. The lead vocals were carried by Bob Mitchell and John Leone respectively. Bob Mitchell was the long standing singer of the band having share in all four albums. Sabatini and Marinelli are the founders of the band and they continue under the same flag. This time, the vocal duties are held by Bobby “Leather Lungs” Lucas who is known with his works in Overlorde and Seven Witches. This is Read more...

WARLORD – THE HOLY EMPIRE

Warlord is an epic and cult heavy metal band from US led by William J.Tsamis and the master drummer Mark Zonder. The legendary release of the band came at 1983 as an EP, Deliver Us composed of 6 songs. For me, Black Mass from this EP stands as one of the best heavy metal songs ever. In the following years the band went through member changes especially on the singer side. The latest release were in 2002 with Joacim Cans (ex-Hammerfall) on the vocals. Rising out of the Ashes received various critics mainly regarding the singer. Many die-hard Warlord fans made harsh criticism on Joacim Read more...

SATAN – LIFE SENTENCE

There are always many doubts when a long time inactive band releases a new album. It is not so easy to expect so much as you don’t really know what time has taken away from the band. Now, Satan has a new record after 26 years which is really a long time to give a break for a band. The legendary 1983 release Court in the Act line-up is together for this new album. Satan, once returned to stage in 2004 for Wacken Festival but the break continued after that and the new album could only come in 2013. For this record, i have one thing to say; excellent and classy NWOBHM. No one will ever Read more...

ANVIL – HOPE IN HELL

Hope In Hell is the 15th studio album of Anvil which is a quite productive band with 6 studio releases in the 2000s. This is also the first studio album with the new trio as they saw a member change by replacing Glenn Five with former Cities bassist Sal Italiano. The band received a higher attention with the Anvil documentary in 2008 but this did not remain permanent. In fact, I believe that this made a negative effect on Anvil in the long run by making them a fun figure. Either you love or hate this band, it is a fact that they have their own style; hard, straight, and Read more...
